I spent roughly 3 weeks with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 70 (HSM-70) at NAS Jacksonville during my 1/C Summer cruise in early June of 2021. During my cruise I gained valuable insight to the naval aviation community and more specifically rotary wing platforms. My most memorable experience was riding in and operating (under careful supervision) an MH-60R aircraft and flying it low and fast through the extensive landscape of Northern Florida. During my cruise I also formed valuable friendships with my fellow Midshipmen, met with a retired AdmiralĀ for coffee, played foosball with the Squadron's junior officers, and enjoyed plenty of sun at the Jacksonville Beaches. Below are some of my favorite photos from the training.
